Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Last updated: [date]. This is a prototype draft prepared from common-practice wording. Before any paid launch it must be reviewed by a lawyer qualified in Singapore and India to confirm it is enforceable and compliant in both.

In plain English: Tideline gives you a directional, personalised plan to time your Singapore-to-India move. It is information to help you plan — not tax, legal, or financial advice, and not a substitute for your own Chartered Accountant. Using the site means you accept these terms.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Tideline website and tools (the "Service"), operated by Tideline ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. What Tideline is — and is not

Tideline is a move-timing planning tool for Indian citizens and persons of Indian origin (PIOs) returning from Singapore to India. It turns the information you enter into a directional, personalised plan of actions and timing relating to your residency status and foreign assets.

The Service is provided for general informational and planning purposes only. It is not tax advice, legal advice, accounting advice, financial advice, or investment advice, and it is not a tax-return or tax-filing service. Using the Service does not create any advisor–client, accountant–client, or fiduciary relationship between you and us. You should not act on any output of the Service without first consulting a qualified Chartered Accountant or other professional adviser about your specific circumstances.

3. Estimates are directional, not final figures

Any figures, ranges, dates, or "tax at stake" amounts the Service produces are directional planning estimates based solely on the information you enter and on simplified assumptions. They are not a calculation of your actual Indian tax liability, which depends on the specific type and timing of each gain or income, exchange rates on transaction dates, your full income position, and rules the Service does not fully model. Actual outcomes will differ. We make no representation or warranty that any estimate, date, or recommendation will achieve any particular tax outcome.

4. Your responsibilities

5. Accuracy of information

While we make reasonable efforts to keep the Service's rules, rates, and content accurate and current, tax law changes and we do not warrant that the information is accurate, complete, reliable, current, or error-free. We assume no liability for any errors or omissions in the content of the Service.

6. Payment, refunds, and free access

Some features of the Service may be offered free of charge, and others may require payment. Where a fee applies, it will be shown to you before you pay. Because the deliverable is a personalised digital plan made available immediately, paid plans are generally non-refundable once generated, except where a refund is required by applicable law. We may change our pricing, offer the Service free for a period, or change which features are free or paid, at our discretion. [To be finalised with your payment provider and confirmed by your lawyer once pricing is live.]

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its content, design, text, and the structure of the plans it generates, is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. The personalised plan we generate for you is for your own personal use. You may not copy, resell, redistribute, or create derivative works from the Service or its materials without our written permission.

8. No warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Use of the Service is at your own risk.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of tax savings, profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service or any plan it produces — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. [A lawyer should set an appropriate liability cap and confirm what cannot be excluded under Singapore and Indian consumer law.]

10. Privacy

Our handling of your personal data is described in our Privacy Notice, which forms part of these Terms.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Singapore / India — to be confirmed], and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [jurisdiction to be confirmed]. [Your lawyer should set the governing-law and jurisdiction clause based on where Tideline is established and where your users are.]
